I wouldn't think this particular style would make a good "main" logo, but it is probably again something for merchandising purposes. The spray-paint effect looks good (imo) on t-shirts and cups, too.

Oh no, I think that it would make a perfect main logo. It can be stylised into 3D (as you have done above) and printed in one block colour - plus it is very simple yet says a lot about the web site and it's 'inhabitants'. I think that it's a certain winner!

^^ I was just talking about the "spray-paint" version. Anyways: thank you!

I think we have a winner here. I especially like the animated version with the ball rolling on the Moebius strip.

Can we turn the ball into a miniature earth and slow it down a bit...kinda hectic to look at at that speed.

'We' can do all that. But only when 'we' find the time ;)

I just did this as a "quicky" to show that an animation might also be neat with this motive. It looks to sterile and cartoony (if that is a word...) in the version i uploaded. But slower and more detail would mean more frames and more general tweaking. If this should be the choice in the end, i am sure we (ha!) can squeeze much more out of it, in terms of general looks and animation.

But the animated one is not a Mobius strip. The ball doesn't cover both the surfaces. It's beautiful though!

It doesn't? Where? How? To me it does.At least that was the intention.

Edit:
Wait, i fell for it, right? It only got one surface (not counting the edge, of course)...

I like the mobius infinite helix thingy. Not so keen on the thinner typefaces that accompany it, but I think it's a really great icon E.

Just popping in for a look-see, not really up to speed. But I like the mobius strip. (That would be a brilliant act at a mathematical burlesque show, doncha think? And it would go on forever... :naughty2: )

Seeing how it is the most spherical object in the known universe I think the little ball should be made into Mr Pilkingtons head >>>>

Okay the can we was "is it possible" so that's a yes.
Now it won't work on a Tshirt at least in this decade so could we see a static version with the ball a miniature earth ala Sagan's small blue dot....

THAT would work on a Tshirt or mug.

How does Life feel about pursuing this design?

Kinda intriguing that DNA and Mobis strips don't mix :D

Okay
My picks so far are as far as theme/general idea goes - no outstanding fav - could live with any of them or minor variations.
