One could even question whether the screen shots shown in the video are in fact the actual data. After all, this is an re-enactment and there is no guarantee they actually use the real data and don't say themselves "Let's just pick any dataset, the viewers of discovery channel won't notice the difference."
That's entirely possible.
But if they did do the DNA sequencing and they do have evidence pointing to a particular ethnic group, why have they not officially released the answer? The obvious answer is that the King's DNA doesn't match the current local Egyptian population's DNA. If it was a close match, it would be a front page announcement in the Egyptian papers.
Why?

Oh ffs, the question posed to you is "Why do you think it would be a front page announcement in the Egyptian papers."
Just answer the question.
Edit: At no time did I say that it wouldn't be a front page announcement, I just clarified on behalf of I.T.
But you knew that Tyrannical. Stop stalling.

Because the current Egyptian government is eager to advertise links from present day Egypt to the Egypt of antiquities since it was such a premier World power back then. Is this line of reasoning really that confusing to you?
