Jupiter is such a gorgeous, visually sumptuous planet.

Kudos to whoever decided to throw Bach's prelude in C Major over the footage. Perfect.

Jupiter may very well be responsible for making earth inhabitable. Over the course of eons there’s no telling how many life ending bolides the monster has swept up.

2019 September 13: A Harvest Moon

Near the horizon, the Moon Illusion might make it appear bigger and brighter to you but this Harvest Moon will be near lunar apogee. That's the closest point in its orbit, making it the most distant, and so the smallest, full moon of the year.

The bold, italic part seems to be in error, or am I making a mistake?

You are correct, the link they give in reference to lunar apogee shows how they are mistaken. Also the prefix peri- derives from the Greek for near and the prefix apo- derives from "away from".

From the figure captions:

and

Thanks! It didn't make sense to me, both in content, and in the context of the rest of the sentence and I thought I was making a silly mistake. I must be going nuts, not being able to confidently identify such errors.
