I am quite fascinated with the news about today's (and yesterday's ?) happenings with the recent coronal mass ejections. It seems the Northern Lights are quite spectacular.

Anyone experiencing anything from this? Post your pictures and musing here. (Naturally recently ejected members who care to speculate about "end-of-the-world" nonsense or their ilk need not apply here. :) )

I don't expect to see anything all the way down here - I would love to see this!

Can you imagine the kind of effect this would have had on our historic and prehistoric ancestors?

We can be about certain there was a god of some kind assigned to the phenomena.

10/10 cloud cover here. There's a chance for Thurs/Fri.

It was fantastically clear here last night (Lat ~50N) and not a whisper of lights. :(

Many weeks ago there was apparently a solar storm so big that we could vaguely see the northern lights from my house- and I live in Missouri. It was more like a slow moving wave of red and green, changing so slowly you couldn't tell until it seemed to be gone and another red wave started moving across the sky, melting into a greenish color near the horizon. I doubt one could have snapped a good picture that actually showed it, especially not I, but it was a fantastic experience. We turned off all the lights and stared at the sky for a long while.
