Nasa's Mars rover Opportunity has found slivers of a bright material that looks very much like it is gypsum (calcium sulphate).
Science is the worst form of inquiry into reality, except all the others that have been tried.

Kind and gentle like the hydrothermal vents that are considered as a possible location of abiogenesis? ;)
