#1  Postby NamelessFaceless » Jan 04, 2014 8:22 pm

Rules of the challenge for those not familiar with the challenge:

1. 50 books.
2. A book must be at least 50 pages long.
3. Books you started in 13 and finish in 14 count on the 14 list.
4. Re-reads count
5. If a book has two books in it it counts as two (Ex. An Orwell book with the animal farm and 1984, counts as two.)
6. No rules on what to read, besides what's listed.
7. This is for fun so enjoy yourself.

Let's get this thing started!

Happy New Year!!!

Only got it today, but 370 pages is only a light snack when it comes to books and me.

2. Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card

Now reading: Plato and a Platypus Walk into a Bar . . .: Understanding Philosophy Through Jokes

But unfortunately I wasn’t quite good enough.

I think I'll make it this year. Started the year on a good note! Started all of the following in parallel. Will post stars/reviews as they are finished!

1. Feynman (Graphic novel biography) by Jim Ottaviani (Christmas gift)
2. The Joy of Music by Leonard Bernstein (Christmas gift)
3. Cooked by Michael Pollan (also a gift but I think I'm going to skip this one)
4. The Brain that Changes Itself by Norman Doidge (finally!)
5. Mindsight by Dan Siegel (halfway through, nothing new but the core idea is one that'll stay, I suppose.)
6. Memory from A to Z by Yadin Dudai (Must-read for everyone interested in memory)
7. Artificial Intelligence and Scientific Method by Donald Gillies (This is going to take a while, I need to get this right)
8. Scientific Discovery: Computational Explorations of the Creative Processes by Langley et al. (On the same theme as above. To be read once the above is finished.)

Squee!
When in perplexity, read on.
