50 Shades of Grey.

#1  Postby Animavore » Jul 17, 2012 8:12 am

This seems to be the next big thing, for women anyway. Sort of like the new Twilight or Harry Potter I suppose. I've saw it in the bookshop yesterday then later some aul one was talking about it in the pub yesterday and about how it improved her sex life (FUA prohibits me from expanding on that).

What is this crap which is drenching panties all over the Western world? Who has read it? And... damn FUA! I can't ask that question.

Badly written Twilight fan fiction. But with spanking instead of vampires.

Apparently. :shifty:

I know Jain has read it, as she is raving about it on FB. Maybe she'll give you a report...

Apparently so. It was originally on a Twilight fan fiction website, but got banned due to the spanky stuff, so the author got their own website, published it there - an agent saw it and published it. The rest is history.

Depressing.

Hello! I didn't like the first book much, the story was a bit crappy and the sexyness was all a bit too much. Grey is a control freak and she is a wet lettuce. The second book grips you more, there's a good story and the characters come more alive. I've now started book 3. The sexy bit get repetitive so I've been skipping most of it. X

I have read about half of it and i think thats all i will read. It is, as already said, twilight fan fiction adapted. Thats why its set in the Pacific Northwest. I was hoping for a vampire horde to descent and munch on everyone but that doesn't seem to be happening.

The only spanking its made me want to do is spanking the main female character. Thats mainly for being such a wishy washy annoying waste of ink and paper.

That's pretty much what I remember you saying on FB. I guess I should have said you were raving about the second book, which was probably worth a rave after the disappointment of the first.

ETA: You're not the only one of my FB friends to read it, but you were the only one from the forum. I hope you don't mind I mentioned you!

The Dulux version looks more interesting, IMO.

This is one of those things we're going to hear about ad nauseum, especially when the film comes out, isn't it?

I keep hearing about this 50 shades of grey business. Is this something like Dulux or Crown, with their shades of white (rose white, apple white, barley white etc)?

Meh. I saw it, I saw the cover, I passed on by.
She battled through in every kind of tribulation,
She revelled in adventure and imagination.
She never listened to no hater, liar,
Breaking boundaries and chasing fire.
Oh, my my! Oh my, she flies!
