He should be arrested for assault.
The problem with fantasies is you can't really insist that everyone else believes in yours, the other problem with fantasies is that most believers of fantasies eventually get around to doing exactly that.

"...a bright kid, which didn't help things... made him more dangerous."

That about says it all. Ignorance, gullibility and mental indolence... these are the attributes that are prized by religious fundamentalists. Those who show any resistance to myth-based indoctrination are "dangerous" and must be bullied into submission.

Christing human excrement.

While his attitude is disgusting, I don't for a moment think it really happened, it's just ugly rhetoric. Lying for Jesus.

Yep, lying for Jesus. It's still lying though, but I suppose lying is better than actually punching the kid in the chest. Or fucking him up the arse - something that we know Christian priests are not always averse to.

Either way he's a psychopath.

What a revolting bully this man is. Standing up and bragging about your assaulting someone for being "bright". "Psychopath" was the right word.

I don't know, when I was 8 years old I was taken out of Sunday school class by my ear, thrown against a
wall banging my head, and then slapped by a Godly man. All for answering, "Because they were dirty," when the class was asked why Jesus washed the apostles' feet. Didn't lead me to the lord though.

Yeah well, I have reasons to believe you, not him. I think he's telling porkies. Including about the kid 'being led to the lard afterwards.'

Yep. It is advocated right there in the text. "Blessed are those who have not seen, yet still believe".

Be dumb, be gullible, stop asking questions, stop thinking about it, stop being rational. Just believe.. or else! (Or else some shitface like this pastor will punch your children).

What's wrong with his audience that he feels comfortable enough to stand up and claim (truthfully or otherwise) that (a) he committed a crime and (b) it was a good thing because someone said something that didn't line up with his faith? He punched the kid because he was "not taking the Lord serious".

For religionuts the end justifies the means. In the end it doesn't matter how you come to believe, only that you do. That's also why they allow themselves to so consistently lie for Jesus.

Given what was said in the video, I doubt they actually care whether a person actually believes or not, only that a person says they believe or at very least they show "the belief" the proper respect. It think that's a bit of a dangerous mindset to be endorsing.
