I have made my case. The Church are completely inconsistent with how they handle penile misuse. Where's the call to ban this show? Where's the condemnation from bishops and clergy? Where's the call to Catholics to avoid this sort of thing and help legislate against it?

To say that misuse of genitalia when it's gay "frustrates its natural ends" but not so when used in a non-gay way is begging the question.

Is that penis missuse? I don't remember any thing from the church saying a penis can only go in a vagina and can never be used for anything else.

The point is they only seem to care how the penis is used in certain, dubiously select cases.

Is it misuse of the penis or the fact that its wasted seed and potential copulation they are caring about?

I mean their car about even that is silly and backwards but it is more in line with the bible than simply missuse of penis.

I think the whole problem with the 'spilling the seed' nonsense is that they thought sperm was a seed planted into a woman for incubation. It might make sense to say you're going against the natural ends to waste it if the Church still believed this, but they don't, they think life begins at conception, so I presume they don't see sperm or egg as life. Which makes it hard to discern just what exactly their objection is.

They are against contraceptive usage for the very reason. They believe every sperm is sacred....to accidentally quote Monty Python.

It may not be stupidity, more like a drone mentality. They haven't had anyone stir the pot to break that mentality.

I assume the idea came from the story of Onan. I read the story before I was aware of the "seed spilling is bad" notions, and had an entirely different interpretation/impression.

Father Schuster taught: anything a married couple does in sex is ok as long as it ends with the penis in vagina. I'm pretty sure that's still the catholic position.

That's an argument that might possibly be used to distinguish homosexuality, masturbation and contraception with just fooling around with one's dick.

But homosexual sex and masturbation frequently doesn't involve 'wasted' sperm, and Catholics don't much like in vitro fertilization either, which is a rather more efficient use of sacred sperm than sexual intercourse.

I suspect it simply boils down to hatred of teh gay.

I reckon, with regard to the religious and their anti-gay bigotry, it almost always boils down to their aversion ( ) to anal sex. Of course anal sex is the ONLY kind of sex gay men ever have and heterosexuals NEVER do it. Nope, not ever.

According to Mick, Catholics don't approve of a Thomas the Tank, let alone taking it up the Khyber Pass
