Questions for the Christian believer

#1  Postby Jimrea » Jan 17, 2012 8:03 pm

Dear Members,

I'm a member from a Dutch FreeThinker forum.
To promote skepticism/critical thinking our admin wrote some questions for the Christian believer.
I hope you can enjoy them.

Jim, Warmenhuizen, The Netherlands.

The original questions in Dutch
http://www.freethinker.nl/forum/viewtop ... =31&t=8382

The translation
http://www.freethinker.nl/forum/viewtop ... 31&t=10033

The topic on Freethinker is locked, so feel free to discuss them here.

The most interesting subjects are going to the Netherlands.
It is not my purpose to discuss.
Reason, I'm a technician and have a problem with non technician discussion.
My vocabulary is too small.

Thank You.

I am not a Christian but as you know I defend Jesus.

I give here first three questions and their replies to start with.

1. Where does your god come from?

2. What is your god made of?

3. What gender is your god? The Bible speaks of a male.

Answer:

Jesus was not a god or son of god literally; the scribes have wrong attributed godhead to Jesus and or that Jesus is son of god; if Jesus said those words being a Jew for that one should look into the usage of Torah or OT Bible.

Jesus never said that the Creator God, whom he used to refer as God-the-Father, was any physical or spiritual being, which are all creations of the Creator God.

The words "where" or "come" are pertinent only to the physical beings; since the Creator God is only attributives; these words do not properly define Him; He has always been there an everywhere with His attributes; He is Immortal so he does not need a gender; it is for this that some nations consider the Creator God as Mother, instead of the Christian, as Father.

The scribes are to be blamed not Jesus.

paarsurrey has omitted mention that Jesus tired of matzo balls & chicken soup, so after the crucifixion, which he survived BTW, he buggered off to India, in search of a Madras, pilau rice, a naan, poppadums & lime pickle. Which sounds fair.

For my belief in brief please see my signatures.

I don't defend "Christianity"; it is a myth; I only defend real Jesus here; he was neither god nor son of god in literal terms.

Just a pedantic note about one of your questions;
5. What is the purpose of millions of galaxies?

As far as I am aware, the current estimate for galaxy numbers is in the hundreds of billions. 300bn I think.

It has no real bearing on anything, carry on.

I wonder when he found the time to pop over to North America and make his appearance there.
