Actually, that's not quite right. Newton said that HE had been like a child toying with interesting things:

I was like a boy playing on the sea-shore, and diverting myself now and then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary

He wasn't talking about science.

Incidentally, science is very likely to be the reason you are alive today. Just a century ago, the mortality rate of children was much higher. Widespread starvation was a fact of life. Diseases plagued us on a routine basis. You've got science to thank for the improvement we've attained over the last few centuries.

Further, you're talking to me on the internet - where does that come from? Not divine revelation, that's for sure.

We've sent people to the Moon, paarsurrey. That fact alone would have been laughed at a century or so ago.

Science itself is the best methodology we've ever made to achieve practical results from our understanding of nature. It's made your life what it is today. Science is not meant to be perfect - our brains are limited things, so we need to formulate ideas and then test them against reality. You can never prove something, only fail to falsify it.

If you can suggest a more advanced methodology, please feel free - otherwise your comment looks naive.

I agree with you that besides needs; interest of some person also played an important role when humans were evolved physically to teens and were there to evolve intellectually unlike the animal, tree and the inanimate their life partners in evolution.

I said I was brought up in a village on barter; having no modern physicians even in the nearby villages.
It was beautiful to live their; the memories and friends and relatives still haunt me.

Even the animal do exist in the wild; it is not for the science that they live; maybe it it the otherway round.

I admire science and the technologies.

Jesus and Moses; Krishna and Buddha; Socrates and Mirza Ghulam Ahmad were not against science and the technology; they liked it as beneficial tools for the human beings if properly used; otherwise one could cut the hand of the person who uses the knife.

I fear the nuclear arsenary could perish innocent human beings off the face of the earth living naturally in the globe who never asked for any science; alongwith those who claim to be masters of it they will also perish.
