On youtube, search for when the user "nephlimfree" (or something like that) was making one of his weekly fundamentalist creationist videos. And when he was filming himself googling random shit, he clicked on his favorites bar, and one of the links saved was "find hot escorts today".

This was also pretty funny: http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Lenski_affair

Classic. I encountered an even better example of creationist double-standards over at the Craig and homosexuality thread. Basically, there's this organisation called NARTH, the letters stand for the National Association for Research & Therapy of Homosexuality and the name says it all, really. They take gay people and try to make them straight again.

On their Wiki page, I found this. In the table, I alighted on some mildly amusing information about one of their researchers, a guy named George Rekers:

Wiki wrote:Resigned 2010 from the board of NARTH after discovered hiring a male escort from a gay escort service for two weeks, According to Rekers, to help him with carrying the luggage, and converting the escort to heterosexuality. According to the male escort, for sex.

It's a wonder these creationists can still limp on after shooting themselves in the foot sooo many times.

It was indeed. Richard Lenski and his team are my heroes. I'm constantly going on about their epic research, much to the dismay of my biology class. When I discovered this awesome piece of ownage, it was the icing on the cake.

Prime example of creationist being complete fucking idiots and bold faced fucking liars...

The origin of "Cdesign Proponentsists". I recommend watching the entire program. It is quite interesting the depths that creationists will go through to try to weaken science in the classroom and inject creationism and religion. It is the court case of Kitzmiller v. Dover School District where they tried to issue the intelligent design textbook "Of Pandas and People" to students in Dover, Pennsylvania.

The punchline to their stupidity is "Cdesign Proponentsists" which turns out as a transitional fossil between Creationism (which is illegal to teach in public schools) and Intelligent design which at the time they were trying to pass off as an alternative "theory" to evolution, an why I chose it as my username :D

Snippet of the program that pertains to the discovery and origin of "Cdesign Proponentsist" as a transitional fossil of creationism and intelligent design.

The full documentary starts here. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED VIEWING. Very good program.

I was amazed at that when I saw it. What dishonest people they are.
The problem with fantasies is you can't really insist that everyone else believes in yours, the other problem with fantasies is that most believers of fantasies eventually get around to doing exactly that.

For about six months, I've thought that Cdesign Proponentsist was a CD cover designer, or comic book artist, in real life.

That avatar, you know, that drawing of the woman punching herself in the face, didn't really help things.

Corke wrote:FSTDT quotes

These actors are great at pretending to be stupid. When watching, you genuinely want to throw something at them.

FSTDT video wrote:"I often debate evolutionists online, because I believe they narrow-mindedly and dogmatically accept evolution without questioning it. I really don't care how God did what he did. I know he did it."

"I can sum it up in three words: Evolution is a lie." {My favourite one}

"You know, there are a lot of things in life that I have concluded to be wrong without studying them in great depth. Evolution is one of them. The fact that I don't think about it doesn't bother me in the least."

"Everyone knows that scientists use complex terminology to make it harder for true Christians to refute their claims. Take 'deoxyribonucleic acid' for example. Sounds impressive, right? You ever see what happens when you put something in acid? It dissolves. If our bodies were full of that acid, we'd all dissolve. So much for the theory of evolution."

"How could anyone believe that humans evolved from monkeys? Here's a few questions from some of you who may believe that. If we did, in fact, evolve from monkeys, how come babies aren't born monkeys?"

"You think that if no one believed in any sort of religion, there'd be no wars or fighting? I think it'd be worse. I think it'd be way worse. I know that, if I didn't have God's judgement to fear, I'd have killed many, many times."

"Even Darwin believed his theories were wrong before he died, so why do we still believe in them?"

"It's not known whether God created oil six thousand years ago, when he created the Earth, or whether the coal deposits were developed during Noah's flood four thousand years ago. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter at all. What matters is, if you don't believe God created the Earth six thousand years ago, you're going to hell."

"Several million years for a monkey to turn into a man? Oh, wait, that's right. Monkeys don't live several million years."

"I'm sorry. Scientists have just shown that mice DNA is more similar to humans than human DNA {}. Would evolutionists then argue that humans evolved from mice? Probably. The thing is, people can't think for themselves, and they get confused about reality. That's why people are willing to believe anything scientists will tell them"

"Let me see if I can paint you a little picture, you know, if atheists ruled the world. So, er, atheist son comes home to his mom.

'Hi, mom.'
'Hey, son'.
And in the summer, he'd probably say something like, 'Hey, mom, I'm gonna go fuck a hooker.'
'Ok, son, don't be home late.'
'Oh, I might be, because then I'm going to go smoke pot with my friends, since it's "not addictive".'
'Oh, fine with me, son'.
And then the, the atheist dad would come home.
'Hi, honey.'
'Hey.'
'Er, how was your day?'
'Oh, I'm pregnant again. Looks like we're gonna have to go get another abortion, since fetuses aren't "actual human life".'
'Oh, no problem, honey. Get as many abortions as you like.'
'Wait, don't go in the bedroom, because there's two gay men fucking in there.'
'Why are there gay men, honey?'
'Because I wanted to watch. I wanted to watch the gay men.'
And then, and then he wouldn't care. He'd say, 'Okay, fine with me.' And then probably the atheist neighbour would run in.
'Quick, there's a Christian outside!'
'Oh, we're coming!'
And then, they'd grab their black robes and hoods, and they'd run into the street, where a Christian would probably be nailed to a big wooden X, being burned at the stake, surrounded by atheists in their hoods and robes.
'Die Christian! DIEEE! We claim to be tolerant of all religions, except you, we hate you. Cause we're atheists, and we're hypocritical like that, cause we're atheists.'
Scary, isn't it?"

ALL TEXT TAKEN WORD FOR WORD FROM ONLINE FUNDAMENTALIST FORUMS

I'm not going to do the peanut butter one. Basically, these nutters claim that if abiogenesis happened, occasionally, when we open a jar of peanut butter, we should find new life inside. Wilhud has dealt with that quite well.

I was absolutely sure that had to be a Poe, that it was such obvious parody that nobody, not even a fundie, could be that incomprehensibly ignorant and stupid. But it was from a genuine Fundie site? Once again, it is impossible to parody fundie arguments and be certain whether its a parody or for real because no matter how unfathomably stupid you make it, there will be fundie arguments out there that are just as ridiculous if not worse.
We're holograms projected by a scientist riding on the back of an elephant in a garden imagined by a goose in a snow globe on the mantel of a fireplace imagined in a book in the dreams of a child sleeping in his mother's lap.

To be fair, I am aware of one quote in FSTDT (not one in this list) that was actually a sarcastic remark on one of the discussion fora that I visit.
Atheism alone is no more a religion than health is a disease. One may as well argue over which brand of car pedestrians drive.

Poe's law. It is incredibly difficult to parody the already laughably ridiculous.

So, pretty much the only thing left to do is point and laugh.

Snopes smashed a rather interesting myth out of the water. I already posted it on the battiest believers thread, but it's worth posting here.

Scientists drilling in Siberia went too far and ended up punching a hole through to hell, where the screams of the damned drifted up to them.

FSTDT is basically a sort of online petting zoo, for people who like seeing religious fundamentalists make a spectacle of themselves.
