Excerpt: Tele-evangelists are not a thing of the eighties. They still thrive.
They boast how rich they are, how god has blessed them. You have to send them seed money. And you'll harvest later, they promise. You keep getting mail, with a dollar or some rubbish, which you're supposed to return with way more money. After which you get more letters.

The show host John Oliver then starts his own church, and shows how easy it is to reap those tax free dollars extorted from the psychologically vulnerable/irrational. That is my harsh verdict, but if you see that someone who can't afford her cancer treatment sends the money to the cons, that is rather heartbreaking instead.

As comedy, it was quite entertaining (think Daily Show). Although I still wonder why US comedy is so revealing and closer to the truth. Wonder? It is a miracle!
