I can't help but think "invent" is a little bit of an overhype.
I wonder who the engineering company was? I can't see the regulators allowing a new waste water (albeit small 65 m3/h on average) discharge treated water without some process guarantees in place.
No human intervention? No maintenance? Really? A bit of hype.

reread the article … its not waste water, but water for reuse, my apologies … but the technology is not that new either.
