Are they really real scientists.

As I understand it the world is divided into: Scientists and Non-scientists. The former are the experts and nobody else is entitled to an opinion about the climate.

Scientists are divided into: Climate Scientists and Non-Climate Scientists. The former are the experts and nobody else is entitled to an opinion about the climate.

Climate Scientists are divided into: 'The Consensus' (that's like 'The Cabal' or the 'The Masons'). The former are the experts and nobody else is entitled to an opinion.

Unlike all other sciences Climate Science is the one area of human knowledge where there are not meant to be any dissenting opinions at all (The future of the world is at stake don't you know). All other sciences have room for different opinions on just about everything but Climate Science demands that anybody of a different view, even if it is simply a difference of emphasis, be relentlessly attacked, insulted and their motives depicted as being of the basest possible.

The thing to bear in mind is that if it gets warmer, colder, drier, wetter, windier, calmer or just about anything at all really, it proves that 'The Consensus' is right, even if they predicted something comletely different would happen. In fact predicting things that don't happen is a speciality of 'The Consensus'. Just look at all the snow free winters we have been having. I'm sure you've noticed all the flooded cities that have been swamped by rising sea-levels.

Not being terribly invested in humanity's future, since I don't plan on having kids and probably wouldn't like them anyway I have to say that from a neutral position this is pretty fucking cool.

Yep, it's all a conspiracy to make poor corporations pay a carbon tax and make everyone drive more fuel efficient vehicles.
What a tragedy.

If it's a conspiracy it's a pretty poor one since it depends on persuading millions of people that the climate in which they are living is different to the way it has been for decades when anybody can see it is much the same just about everywhere. On the other hand you can fool some of the people all of the time...

I think it's just a question of 'I'm right, I'm saving the world, never mind the facts.' You get that in all sciences. It is just that with Climate Science:

1. You can get a lot of publicity if you issue the most tabloid friendly of scare stories.
2. Lots of people, including Climate Scientists and especially including Politicians, like to get in the news to show how important they are.
3. The media like to have a 'Global Warming' angle to just about everything and they really, really love stories about how we are all doomed by our wickedness in driving, breathing, farting or just in staying alive.
4. The definition 'Climate Scientist' is sufficiently vague to cover just about any scientist who has ever raised an umbrella or rubbed in sunblock.

How's Global Warming doing for you at the moment? Here it's cool but dry. Very dry actually since we have had little rain for weeks. Of course that's never happened before. It used to rain three times a week every Monday, Wednesday and Friday with a Gale every third Sunday. Something's disrupted all that, must be Global Warming.

Maybe should try getting your scientific information from scientists instead of the pages of The Daily Mail?

Seriously, your posts do not even merit a sensible responsible. You are just parroting anti-scientific propaganda. If previous experience of dealing with people like you is anything to go by, what you actually understand about climate science could be written on a postcard.

The truth of this matter is that climate science has not just been developed on the back of scientists evaluating evidence about the Earth's current climate. It has been of key importance in the advances in our understanding of both the previous history of the climate on Earth and of other planets and moons in the solar system, especially that of Venus. But you wouldn't be interested in all that, would you? It's actual science and not right-wing political propaganda....

Who cares about these "opinions" anyway? The world is divided into - people doing the hard work, presenting scientific papers citing publically verifiable evidence - and people giving "opinions": "Y'see, what I reckon is, yeah, it's all made up..."

Unlike all other sciences Climate Science is the one area of human knowledge where there are not meant to be any dissenting opinions at all (The future of the world is at stake don't you know). Another "opinion" about a popular conspiracy theory: how utterly original of you.

Did you make this up all by yourself, or did you read it in a right wing newspaper?

Climate rap by REAL scientists! (Warning: with authentic swear words too). What do you think... have they got a future in the music industry with lyrics like this!? Climate Denier: “The Greenhouse effect is just a theory.. sucker.” Climate scientists: “Yeah, so is gravity... Float away M***er F***er.”

Er, no.

The thing is, dude, your "understanding" is all fucked up; it has no basis in facts or evidence; is entirely illogical, and makes not a shred of sense, except I guess to you.

Your continuous ranting impresses exactly nobody. So why persist? We've heard your "understanding" a hundred times, it makes no more sense the hundredth time than it did the first time. It's old and boring as hell.

Might I suggest you get a grip? :ask:

Not quite. The World Meteorlogical Society defines climate as the average of weather over a 30 year period. This is the indice that's used in climate science.
