If it weren't for all the tents/plastic nobody would even have known about it, not even strong enough to pick up dust.

I was at a swimming school with my kids about 10 years ago when the cover had just been removed from the heated pool, it was early morning with almost no air movement, and several miniature slowly rotating misty funnels appeared over the water extending up to 2-3m in height for just a minute or so. I wish I had been able to video it, but it might not have picked up on camera anyway, it was very faint.
