Lead Exposure and Violent Crime

#1  Postby GT2211 » Apr 08, 2013 7:02 pm

Kevin Drum has wrote a lot of words the last few months related to the effects lead exposure has on crime. Here is his cover article(if anyone is that interested I may try to gather up the many blog posts since this article.) Its interesting as there has been a few other popular explanations on crime. Leavitts abortion paper, increased incarceration rates, and policing techniques have all been put forth as explanations.

Here is the MoJo article

I remember my econ. of crime class introducing the Jessica Reyes paper on this subject which suggested a causal effect from childhood lead exposure.

Those are some crazy numbers. Most of the people I've read have basically said it makes a lot of sense.
