Have not found appropriate thread, another on scientific literacy was in this section, thus ..

----

What College-Aged Students Know About the World: A Survey on Global Literacy

Take it: http://www.cfr.org/society-and-culture/ ... acy/p38241

Read results: http://i.cfr.org/content/newsletter/fil ... teracy.pdf

The average score on the survey’s knowledge questions was only 55 percent correct, and just 29 percent of respondents earned a minimal pass—66 percent correct or better.

It's not really about the world though, is it? It's still about America, just the stuff that America does away from home.

The poll and actual questionnaire are different, though the questionnaire is still (naturally) US-centric. If you are referring to failed questions I mentioned, then yes its about the US. I was under impression my literacy of the US was better than it apparently is. Another way to look at it is that the US is possibly global player #1 thus importance of "the stuff that America does away from home" or "global literacy".
