In my old high school, any child that successfully completed a week of school got a reward. That's merely attendance, not actual school performance. It kinda worked, school attendance went from 30% to 80%.

beats me why these daft sodding teachers can't get it through their thick heads that ALL children develop at different rates in different subjects. they could usefully stop getting their knickers in knots and accept that where boys are poor at reading at one age, they will catch up later.

girls tend to excel at language from an early age, but often their numeracy skills lag behind the boys. will they get outings and jollies to boost their performance? unlikely.

Come on Paula1, you know now that the girls are most likely going to be sitting around the back of the bike sheds sharing some silk cut, talking about how great it is not to have a boy punch them in the arm for a day? is it really that bad?
