Professor live-tweets her son's abstinence-only sex ed class

Professor Alice Dreger is no newcomer to the study of human sexuality. In 2010, she hosted a TED talk focused on how anatomy often determines fate, and in 2015 she published Galileo's Middle Finger, which covers controversies in academic medicine, specifically those related to sexuality.

When the author and bioethicist's son invited her to sit in on his abstinence-focused sexual education class, she knew she was stumbling into a situation ripe for live-tweeting.

Condoms are scary, sex is scary, everything is scary just be a good boy/girl and sit in the corner quietly not even thinking about anything in case that leads to something scary. Your parents will thank you for it because now they don't have to think about you and the things that scare them.

As for the sex ed class referred to in the OP, not even in 1979 did we have anything so backwards in Sweden.

Seems pretty obvious that an Abstinence class would be dedicated to persuading people to be abstinent.

Know what could be almost as much fun? Mandating classes on how it's bad to be rich (to discourage cheating, drug dealing, thievery, etc, of course).

I'm not sure how it was in my school. I remember very little from sex ed. I don't know if that was due to inattention or if it wasn't presented. The latter probably. If my memory is at all a good guide then they spent more time on how not to rape someone then on condoms.
