Well, if it's for security reasons then the same reasoning applies: everyone must remove their headgear. (You know them Muslim girls: always hiding bottles of scotch under their hijab! )

As I said earlier in this topic, you may have missed it and it may not apply to your schools;
but the college I go to ban it for security reasons. Kids have been known to conceal alcohol and weapons under their hats etc.

I didn't miss it. I'll reiterate what I said earlier about the ban being about security. I suspect the whole "you might have a weapon on your head" is a farcical argument. If they were really worried about weaponry, they'd have a metal detector.

I agree that it would be quite absurd if the real concern was security. Besides, I can't see why something that can be hidden in a hat can't be hidden in baggy trousers or under a skirt. At that rate they should as well put a ban on clothes.

LOL, that reminds me, one of the schools I went to banned puffy jackets for the weaponry concealment factor. They were starter jackets. So stupid.

Sikhs have been known to smuggle drugs in their turbans, I knew one who was caught this way.

You can smuggle drugs and ceramic glocks in anything, not just headgear. Shall students come to school naked?
