I watched Dear Mr. Gacy, a movie based on the book The Last Victim written by a guy who started corresponding with serial killer John Wayne Gacy while he was on death row. The author, Jason Moss, was working on a project for his thesis and started corresponding with the killer in hopes of learning more about the way his mind worked. He convinced Gacy that he was a gay loner and Gacy started calling him. He even met Gacy in person and claims that Gacy overpowered him in the prison interview room. Creepy stuff. The author eventually became a criminal defense attorney.

Isn't that true to the books though? I think the other ones are not about Jason.

I watched (500) Days of Summer last night. It was funny and sweet. I'm absolutely loving Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Can't decide whether I liked The Grey or not. You know, Neeson is cool ,the movie was well-crafted, it was intense and all that. But...

Wolves just don't behave that way. Did they fly in some wargs from Middle Earth, or what? Wolves don't have alpha males, or omegas for that matter. They also don't attack groups of roughly a dozen people. In fact, healthy wolves just don't attack people. Particularly wolves don't kill - and, according to the movie, explicitly not eat - people because they "don't belong here". And they certainly have nothing what pretty much amounts to a fully blown battle strategy. The premise of the world-weary loner leading a group of outcasts and losers through a life-threatening situation and everyone coming to grips with their lives (or dying horribly) is a nice one, and it was well executed. I just don't think I can get over those hell-spawn wolves.

Speaking of Emily Browning: Sucker Punch was shit, imho. But I understand why almost every guy thought it was a great movie.
Guns, a lot of special effects and girls dressed up as hookers.

I liked Sleeping Beauty, even though the whole story was a bit confusing from time to time.

Still worth watching? I've been looking forward to it. The premise of Wolves actually attacking a group of people always seemed a bit silly to me but I'm willing to look past it.

As I said, a well-crafted movie. Funnily enough, I thought Neeson's Irish accent sounded fake, even though he is Irish. :dunno: Other than that, though, definitely worth a watch, if you can get over the wargs.

Neeson is Irish.
Why the character was Irish... Dunno. :dunno: I suppose if you have a miserable fuck of a character, with nothing left in life you might as well make him an Irishman.

The Pianist

Really good looking film and Brody was great. I didn't really want to watch this film at the time though, I was more in the mood for some guns and exploosians!! So what I took away from this film was:
1) That Nazis were not very nice. At all.
2) They did have fantastic uniforms.

I think I missed the entire point of the film.

I'll watch it again at some point.

Say what you like about Hitler, he was a snappy dresser.
