I liked the book version a lot more for Jorah's banishment. In the show it made Dany seem oblivious to pleas of mercy and pleas of forgiveness or even reasoning. Jorah was spying on Dany, but then realized he loved her and so decided not to take the pardon, decided not to spy on her and decided to join her. In the book, all Dany asked for was an apology, but Jorah refused believing he did nothing wrong. When asked three times for the apology and none forthcoming, Dany was forced to exile Jorah.

Yes she gave him a chance to stay with her in the book. She'd already got an apology out of Baristan IIRC, but Jorah was having none of it. Also he comes off as a bit too swaggery and sure of himself and this doesn't go down well with her.

Also there was none of the forced kiss in the show.

What about the things the show got right?

WTF? I see people on comments talking about Lady Stoneheart is likely to be the last thing we see on seeason 3 of Game of Thrones. I've looked it up and she was indeed in A Storm of Swords yet I can't for the like of me remember her at all.

Also, wasn't Littlefinger pushing yer one out the Moon Door the very last scene of A Storm of Swords?

I notice the last episode of this season is called The Children. A reference to The Children of the Forest?

And is there still a chance we'll see Cold Hands?

Regarding Sansa, does anyone else think the showrunners know something beyond the current source material?

I believe she get's mentioned a grand total of 2 times.

No, she was just in the epilogue though. In Feast of Crows she is mentioned and seen a whole lot more.

What about Arya? That's all rather different than in the books. I wonder where that's going. And why did she break out laughing when she heard that her aunt died? Maybe she thinks it's funny that The Hound took her all that way to find out yet again that he's not getting his ransom...

If it wasn't already distressing enough that HBO's Game of Thrones TV series is most likely going to overtake author George R. R. Martin's actual writing of the Song of Ice and Fire novels before he can finish the full saga, Martin's editor, Anne Groell, is now saying that the story may require more than seven books.

Sounds like a certain author has become accustomed to book royalties...

And/or not knowing how he wants the story to end.

To be honest, it doesn't really come as a surprise. And this can pretty much be taken as a confirmation that there will be more than 7 books. I just hope that it doesn't take GRRM another 15 years to finish the books.

Lots of achey botties this morning on various fora that Lady Stoneheart wasn't shown in the end.
I don't even think she's that big a character. I thought the season ended exactly where it shoud've.

There is hardly any of that going on though, there was that fella with the eyepatch who dennis pennis kept bringing back to life a while ago but they really didn't set up how lady stoneheart could have been introduced among that group at all. Which leads me to question whether someone else who died quite recently is going to be reanimated either (right at the end of the last book and not yet unveiled, I think). Yeah, I can't figure out the spoiler policy so that should be vague enough to keep everyone happy.

Also, it's funny how after the battle at castle black one nights watch man said something like 'oh yeah, we'd better burn the bodies (because there's zombies now, even though nobody ever really mentions that)'.

There's no spoiler policy on this thread. It was created for the very purpose of discussing the books vs the series.
