So do the likes of the likes of Heir Hunters, genealogy programmes, auction/antiques shows, quiz shows, sport, property shows...and so on. It's a stupid label. Particularly something like Big Brother (the first to be called a reality show?); you could hardly get further from reality than putting a bunch of attention seeking emotional cripples in a (pretend) house and film them 24/7.

Oh I totally agree. I was just explaining why the networks call those shows 'reality' shows.

You forgot 'near'. But yea, the English translation is rubbish.

The number of times I forget that which changes the whole post around.

Parliament.

The premise is absurd and the characters amateurish and shallow.

The production values are rubbish, the sets are boring and static and the audio is very poor.

As for plot development. :dunno:

Speaking of Scott Bakula and complete shit, did you know he was a semi-regular on "The New Adventures of Old Christine"? Just another confirming example of the "Scott Bakula TV Shows are complete shit" hypothesis.

It's not that he's a bad actor as such - if he were, he would not have a career at all - he's just ... bland. It could be that he has just never gotten a role in which he could shine. That is, which way the causal relationship in what we might call the "Bakula Effect" runs has not been established.

Is he a mediocre actor given roles that he can't bring anything compelling to? Is he just unlucky enough to only get offers for roles with shitty writers?

Regardless, everything he is in is shit.

Quantum Leap was a classic. :snooty:
We are alive, so the universe must be said to be alive. We are its consciousness as well as our own. We rise out of the cosmos and see its mesh of patterns, and it strikes us as beautiful. And that feeling is the most important thing in all the universe.

By the way... did he ever "jump" home?

You consider the show a classic, yet don't even know this?

The Bakula Effect strikes again.

I haven't watched it in years. Used to watch it all the time but that was before the days of automatic series recording or internet streaming. :smoke:

I was going to mention Quantum Leap.

Many of Bakulas characters are fairly bland but thats because he is often cast as the good boy scout type a lot of the time. His few movie roles have been variable but It was good to see him in American Beauty. Apparently he has been far better on the stage than on screen.
