For some reason the whole first episode left me uneasy, tense or something. Not sure what the hell I am watching, or why.

Mike: Am I making a mistake... in trying to understand... the story of the show... and not just enjoying the violence?

I've been trying to watch Altered Carbon season 2 and given up. Weak scripts that feel like a rerun of the first series without any sense of mystery and Anthony Mackie's performance is dismal. It doesn't even feel like he's trying to play the same character as Byron Mann or Joel Kinnaman.

There have been a lot of body swap scenarios in sci fi over the years that have been well acted, I remember how impressed I was with D'Arcy Carden in The Good Place last year. I don't remember ever seeing one in which an actor was so obviously beyond their range, Mackie feels like he only has two settings, sarcastic and angry, and one accent, which I assume is his real life mode of speech.

It makes me quite disappointed having been thoroughly looking forward to a second season.

I'm looking at some key episodes of Breaking Bad. Which, like BCS, is in 4K UHD, but unlike the latter this has the soap-opera effect and the constantly micro-moving camera strains my eyes. I was wondering if maybe I was just simply getting used to 4K, but obviously not. Saul is just better filmed for this format.

I guess since no one has said to me in a long time that I must watch The Sopranos it's time for me to watch it.

I want 5 more seasons of Saul. Alternate + future timelines acceptable. Make it happen.

I’m already dreading what will happen to Kim. It’s going to be far worse than Mike in BB.

Yesh, streamed ep3 late last night. And I find myself regularly saying out loud, “god, I love these two together.” So, yes, that would hurt like a mofo. :(

Just watched!! Loved the gnome/ice cream cone pairing in ep2. Came home big time with the cold open. I have a feeling the fate of our German engineer will be in play.

Mentioned earlier, but just finished watching Upstart Crow. Highly recommended if you're a David Mitchell and Ben Elton fan like I am. The guy playing Robert Greene is fucking hilarious, don't think I've ever seen him before. He sounds like a villainous Captain Beefheart

I'm a little rusty on Shakespeare since high school was more than half my life ago, but my wife is reading a bunch for classes so she can point out references I miss. It's not all historical and literary references though, lots of the humor is about current events and the contrast of modern society (or lack thereof). While the show gets a bit formulaic at times it's a lot of fun and we enjoyed it immensely.

Mark Heap (Robert Greene) is a legend. Check him out in the British shows Spaced, and Green Wing, and, to a lesser extent, Friday Night Dinners.

EDIT; Oh and, if you can get it, Jam. Which is one of the funniest shows ever.

Turns out all 6 episodes of Jam are on YouTube. This one may not be against the FUA and contains Mark Heap's funniest sketch.

Mark Heap is fabulous. Loved him in Friday Night Dinner. I found Upstart Crow good, but a bit too Saturday night on the BBC for me. David Mitchell can be a lot funnier than that.

The new and third season of Castelvania, takes nudity/sex to GoT levels.

It wasn't very challenging, for sure. And some of the formulas got a bit tiresome towards the end. But there's not a lot of shows similar to it over here, so I guess for me its welcome hadn't been worn out.
