It's actually quite funny. Watching it right now in work.

And yeah, Oswald is great as the principle everyone walks over.

Looking forward to seeing it. I recently read the book: what Jim Crow America looks like when you toss in some magical realism.
She battled through in every kind of tribulation,
She revelled in adventure and imagination.
She never listened to no hater, liar,
Breaking boundaries and chasing fire.
Oh, my my! Oh my, she flies!

I like the Eco Challenge races and this is well done.
Couple emotional teams especially a father son team.....the father was a world level eco racer and has ALzeimhers and his son ...also a top end competitor helping him get through his last race ( I think he has 25 under his belt )

Image

there a a number of inspiring back stories

https://www.realityblurred.com/realityt ... on-review/

That was enjoyable ...I think a good franchise tho that race is just insanely hard ....

These two were inspiring

Team Khukuri Warriors is the first team from India to join Eco-Challenge, and its led by twin sisters from Dehradun (India), who by 23 years of age defied gender stereotypes to reach the world's highest and farthest points – Mt Everest, the North Pole and the South Pole – and became the first twins to climb Everest, as

and a father and daugher team from Canada....also the two Fiji teams both finished......

:this: is brilliant. Quite smart and witty. I've been told it's a fairly accurate portrayal of Bible belt Georgians too.

Was watching Netflix's new videogame doc' this morning, High Score. It suffers the same thing every videogame doc' suffers from. It's flashy, shallow, and hagiograhic.

That central character is compelling.

Sometimes I wonder wtf Ridley Scott really thinks about religion, but... whenever it comes up, it sounds shallow and stupid & I'm forced to ignore it so it doesn't scuttle the rest of the movie experience.

Watched the first Lovecraft Country yesterday, and was not disappointed. It was a bit more schmexy than I recall, but that’s TV for ya. I can see there’s a certain amount of plot juggling going on in order to get 10 episodes out of it, but I enjoyed the casting, the scene setting and the monsters. Will watch number 2 later.

why would an apparently sensible person like Ridley bother with such crap....I'm sure he has better things to do than angst over puerile notions most dismiss at 12.

I'm watching Piers Morgan's Psychopath, only because it's what my work colleague is watching, and I can only just marvel at its complete lack of insight into the mind of a psychopath. I mean the guy just gives calculating answers to questions which seem rehearsed and generally stonewalls. There's only a couple of flashes of anything true which are backed away from quickly.
I don't even think Morgan is the right guy for this type of show. He keeps trying to come at the psychopath at the level of a person who isn't (makes me think of the double empathy problem in autism), "How do you feel about this and that?" as if expecting him to breakdown and confess all. He's a psychopath and probably physically (as in the parts of brain associated with..) incapable of certain feelings or empathy or guilt that would elicit a reaction. At no point does he feel interested in any type of understanding.
His questions seem pre-prepared and he asks them one by one without pressing any issues on the fly or even recognising when something potentially worthy of further inspection has just arisen.

Only Piers Morgan could do a show where he interviews a psychopath and it's him you want to punch more.

Now watching Netflix's Unwell watching a bunch of emaciated people in a 'wellness' on extreme versions of intermittent fasting drinking just water for 28 days. The guy in charge is saying it has cured cancer, heart defects, blindness.

One of his ex-clients died after fainting and this guy is saying he's not to blame. He died because he hit his head. Not because of fasting.

Main criticism; it seems to treat all fasting as one in trying to show positive and negatives. It ends up muddying the waters. I wouldn't comsider these 30 day water only fasts as intermittent fasting at all so I don't know why they are all lumped together.

In 4k Dolby Vision and Atmos as well. Narrator a step down from Attenborough, Morgan Freeman would have been a beeter choice but we'll see if the new guy grows on me. The production is superb.

The story ,...not so much ...too American and overly dramatic..hokey comes to mind. Audience reviews agree but I'll watch for the eye candy. The photography tho is incredible. Wasted opportunity- on to Teenage Bounty Hunters.

Love the opening ...okay this will do.
Hokey but at least it's comedy ....reasonable send up....or maybe no...sigh....

Third time lucky ?
