Image Somebody Feed Phil (Netflix)

Season 4’s out. Sometime before last season his mother must’ve passed, so his parental Skype call @ end of each ep now features his dad & a friend. It’s bittersweet. Phil’s deep love of people is half the reason to watch the show.

Blood of Zeus
A Netflix original cartoon based in Greek Mythology.
Entertaining. Only criticisms so far are that animation is choppy sometimes and one or two voice actors feel flat.

Choppy animation is the American way, probably for budget reasons. Even when they outsource the work to animators in Korea (like for this show), I’m sure budgeting is behind the choppiness, rather than lack of ability. American audiences are weaned on bad animation, so there’s no incentive to shift standards. I find most American animated ‘action’ shows (the kind with ‘realistic’ character design, like superhero shows) unwatchable bc of this flip-book quality, where the flip-book has a lot of pages missing.

The music and strong Greek tragedy feel manages to keep my interest, despite the sub-par animation.

No, it's not based on/related to God of War.

Often feel like yelling “KRAH-TOSS” when I hear the name. I know it’s made-up, but I guarantee it would sound weird to any Greek audience to pronounce it “kray-toss”. Plus, kratos is a real word (means ‘country’ or ‘state’). It just sounds so dumb when I hear it the canon way.

“Election Cake with Q&A” live stream (Tasting History). I recommend his channel generally. Ancient recipes + he’s funny. Reminds me of Will Forte.

The Queen's Gambit on Netflix is what you should all be watching instead of cartoons.

Deadly Class is quite fun, but of course, it being a Syfy show:
