Poor Eugene...
Yep.

I like the changes they've made from the graphic novels, with Jesse changed from a completely disillusioned Preacher into a power-tripper thinking he's doing God's work. The nasty turn in the novel with Eugene is when Jesse tells the kid's dad, with the voice of God, to go fuck yourself. That was pretty bad. This looks like it's a good deal more fucked up.

Watching season 2 of Marco Polo on a newly corrected 4k LCD Samsung. Pretty impressive cinematography and the streaming is solid.

I picked up season 1 of Community out there. I'm skeptical that I'll like it, but it was practically free so worth a shot.
I also picked up the first 3 season of The Sopranos for $1 each at a yard sale in coastal New Jersey. :smoke:

Almost done watching the first episode of Brian Cox's new Forces of Nature series.

Very nice first episode. I really liked the tower-building tradition/competition. Really impressive. :awe:

And of course the sentiment that nature is even more beautiful when someone understands it (or some of it) can never be repeated enough. 8-)

I thought it was a rather dumbed down affair and the human stories were nearly more interesting than the science. He shied away from the maths, which he hasn't done so much in his other series. I think someone in the Beeb told him to make it more accessible.

So I'm watching an Englishman and an Irishwoman play cowboy with another Englishman playing an Irishman. It has its moments. Some really, really sweet moments; but in between that it plods along like a policeman.

Has anyone watched Stranger Things? It's getting incredibly high ratings on imdb.

Yeah I thought that too. A bit disappointing. Tell me something sciencey I don't know Brian! At most I re-learned something I'd forgotten about snowflakes.

Can't say it keeps my attention either.

Big cliffhanger at the end of the first episode.

Are AMC exploiting some weird tax loophole? Where best to find actors who can do American southern accents? Well, the British Isles, obviously, but any other possibilities?

The girl who helps run the church is also English.
