I guess it's a long time since someone has been all up in my face telling me how great The Wire is and that I simply must watch it because I've finally started watching it.

Also gave 80s: The TV Show another go.

In every episode of 80s: The TV Show so far a grown-up has told a child, "You can talk to me."

Ah c'mon! They just came right out in 80s: The TV Show and said, when talking about yer one's powers, "You guys read Stephen King?"

That's as bad writing as Dan Brown as describing Robert Langdon as looking like Harrison Ford.

Same here. I went through all 9 episodes of season 2 in a day, couldn't stop watching them.

Both Blindspot and The Blacklist is pissing me off with Weller/Jane and Tom/Liz scenes, because it sounds like they're being written by the same fucking moron. :banghead:

In the first 2 minutes into the premiere of the new season of Blindspot I wanted to throw up. Now, not 30 seconds into episode 3 and I wanna vomit on the script. And literally every ten minutes I have to hear how much they love each other and listen to cringe-worthy dialogue.

Also, Tom/Liz might be the second most torturous pairing, given the characters' past and how they got back together like nothing happened. Second after e.g.: Katniss/Peeta at the end of Hunger Games. These fucking writers have got to be related. :nono:

I bin watching Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath. I always knew they were a bit mad, but it is still fascinating to see how deep the madness goes. Answer: deep.

There was a Louis Theroux documentary about them on last week which I thought was a bit below his usual standard
They are very good at squirrel busting which they used against him. I was surprised to discover they have Carter and
Ruck as their lawyers after he got a letter from them. Never argue with them Louis for they will just grind you down

Nah. He ended up chasing them off by using their own tactics while reprising his clueless buffoon act. They can plaster the net with crap about him, but the only people still liable to believe them at this stage are other Scientologists. Their following people around everywhere schtick doesn't happen here like it does in the US. They've really not got much clout in this country, as Scientology is not classed as a religious institution for one thing, and it only has a tiny number of adherents. I've noticed they're rather more mortal than they used to be of late.

Yeah I really enjoyed it, but I sort of wish they'd tied up a few more of the loose ends and finished it there. I can't see how they'll top what they've already done if they carry it on. By the end, it's already sort of lost the horror, strange unknown, aspect - and become more of a monster, action show. That's fine, but they can't just come back with an even bigger monster next time, or it'll be silly, especially since all the main characters seem to have plot armour. Perhaps if they do something with a much more subtle and unnerving threat while the characters return to relatively normal lives, and kill some of them off.
[Disclaimer - if this is comes across like I think I know what I'm talking about, I want to make it clear that I don't. I'm just trying to get my thoughts down]

I think Scientology only has power in America. In the documentary Marty Rathbun states that his life is ruined because
he has no friends and is permanently unemployable. They really do not like members leaving them. Look at what they
threatened to do to John Travolta when he was thinking of leaving after he found himself in that incredibly dark place

Anyone who leaves is considered an 'enemy'/Suppressive Person, and SPs are subject to the 'fair game' policy, which L Ron Hubbard laid down in documentation.

We're watching Mindhunter on Netflix at the moment. It's about the very early days of criminal psychological profiling.

Dunno why I'm watching season 2 of Stranger Things. I don't even particularly care for the show. Contrived nonsense.

There's more to Stranger Things than 80's references and style. Unlike a lot of stuff that uses nostalgia as part of its appeal, it rely captures the feel rather than going for cheap, Big Bang Theory level references. It also helps that they subvert a lot of the old tropes, while not doing it every time, so you're not just predicting the unpredictable.
The child actors alone make the show worth it. It's rare to see children do so well with acting.
