Same here. I went through all 9 episodes of season 2 in a day, couldn't stop watching them.

Yeah I really enjoyed it, but I sort of wish they'd tied up a few more of the loose ends and finished it there. I can't see how they'll top what they've already done if they carry it on. By the end, it's already sort of lost the horror, strange unknown, aspect - and become more of a monster, action show. That's fine, but they can't just come back with an even bigger monster next time, or it'll be silly, especially since all the main characters seem to have plot armour. Perhaps if they do something with a much more subtle and unnerving threat while the characters return to relatively normal lives, and kill some of them off.

I think they only plan to do 4 seasons. I can see where there's room for 2 more seasons. I kind of want to see it get more Lovecraftian. The Mind Flayer was kind of a tease. If they go past that, I'm more doubtful it will stay good.

I really don't mind plot armor. I'm getting a little tired of the current trend of main character death quotas. It was great when the concept was new. Like holy shit, I never expected _____ to die, but it doesn't shock me anymore.

I've been watching this The Rick and Morty Show. Have you lot seen this? It's a comedy program, but it's animated. Like a cartoon. And they have adventures. Rather entertaining.

I love that show... and I am annoyed that fans have gotten a bad reputation. Really, any popular, passionate fanbase has its fair share of obnoxious cock knockers, and when you add a company riding on the success of said thing, and not stocking enough supplies for the publicity stunt (that the creators had nothing to do with), it's no surprise when the result is people acting out.
They don't represent all or even the majority.

I didn't follow much of that sauce thing, but watching the show I got the feeling that there's probably a bunch of guys out there who haven't read Sartre but for whom "existential" has replaced their adjectival use of "big", and who have their friends photograph them looking all dark and thoughtful walking along a lonely road, and who talk about how the show captures all their bullshit because the void or something. But if I ignore that and just watch the show, it's pretty entertaining. Nice follow through on a lot of their ideas rather than chickening out after the first act of each episode. :shifty:

There are other characters, Thommo. It is a rich tapestry. Not that you'd know, since you clearly haven't watched it.

One of the big hurdles for Americans reading Sartre is pronouncing his name.

Should have used a nom de plume.

Like Bob Tate.

Bob Tate's La Nausée. I could see that.

Picked this back up again ....I might blitz it from the beginning as it's in 4k :D
The leads are well matched and effective ....like the music and the twists.....not sure why I quit it.

T. Earl King episode was very good....loved the pacing.

Damn this last episode recaps some of the first season....definitely a rewatch in order. Lovely mayhem. :smoke:

Geez talk about conspiracy feeding......the show brings up serious issues with national security versus expediency.

Might rewatch Longmire too as the last season is shot in 4k.

I pronounce his name like "fart". Do I think this is correct or do I say it that way for childish reasons? I'll leave that as a mystery.

Blacklist upscales very well to 4K. It's a different experience viewing the first season it with foreknowledge.

Forgot how good the music was as well....wonder what he paid the Stones...

Most of the times, in movies and TV shows, music just goes with scene, sometimes they're mant to make you feel something. But in rare occasions, music magnifies a scene, to a point where you can't dissociate them any longer. I remember a scene in Smallville, between Lex Luthor and his father, that Jhonny Cash's Hurt turned into an unforgetable memory. I don't know who Disturb are, but their interpretation of Sounds of Silence at the end the mid-season finale of the Blacklist produced the same effect on me.

Edit : link to music added.

It was nominated for best rock performance at the 59th Grammy Awards. Not that it means much.

And I love it :)

So now Liz is going to try to find out what Tom was doing before he died, which wil lead her to Red's secret. And how long will that take ? The rest of the season, or 3/4 more ?
