If anything this season has made me want a series about Jeri Hogarth, rather than Jessica Jones.

Well now they don't have the best villain in the MCU, it's hard to stay at the same level as he first season...

The season still could have had a more consistent pace and clearly defined plot.

Given my experience with remakes these last several years, I'm aprehensive about this.

Jessica Jones was pretty good. Not as good as season 1, but that was a tough act to follow. Like later Daredevil the less good villain was a big part of that.

The Jeri Hogarth story was 99% tedium, the curse of having a big name actress in what should be a small part I guess. Her endless unsexy sex didn't help. Could definitely have trimmed about an episode's worth of content from her storyline and improved the season as a whole. It was way too much setup for the payoff, which admittedly was satisfying.

I enjoyed Trish's storyline, her relationship with Jessica, her jealousy and self-destructive tendencies played back and forth in a nice cycle, showing how her narcissism steered her from one extreme to the other, pushing her to succeed and pushing her to seek what Jessica has.

Still, the best outing for the Netflix Marvel shows in a while, like The Punisher it was well ahead of the Danny Rand angst machines that were Iron Fist and The Defenders.

I know I'm insane late to this, but I've just started watching Homeland from the beginning and my god it is great television. Claire Danes, Mandy Patinkin and Damian Lewis are all so excellent

My assessment of the English after watching more The League of Gentlemen is that the English are a rather perverse lot.

Actual sexual deviants, in my view. :?

Yup. Only Jeremy Dyson went to a fee paying school, the rest went to bog standard schools.

Further 'Fagging' wasn't anything sexual, it referred to junior boys having to perform menial tasks for seniors - it was pretty much dead by the time Dyson attended school.

When I was rather an inquisitive child one of the main differences, to me, between Ireland and Britain, was that Britain has a more ready supply of smut. Whether it was keyrings you wind to watch a couple perform doggy-style, or pens featuring people in swimsuits which fell down when you turned it around, the stuff was everywhere. You never seemed to be too far away from a rubber dick or plastic tits.

That's the Britain I know. That's the Britain of The League of Gentlemen.

I saw a person who I thought looked like Roy 'Chubby' Brown on an episode last night so I looked it up and found out that not only was I right; but Roy 'Chubby' Brown is Royston Vasey!

The only one of those I've ever seen in this country is plastic tits.

Either I need to get out more, or possibly continue hiding and give myself a pat on the back.

On topic, just finished the last of the second part of Philip K Dick's Electric Dreams. Pretty enjoyable overall. Wildly different in plot, tone and atmosphere from one to the next and yet in many ways thematically similar to the first half of the series. Very inward looking, very much about doubting the state of one's own mind.

Flawed scripts in places, but the visuals were amazing in parts as well.

You just need to be around the holiday spots and places like Pointins and Butlins, I suppose.

Who remembers the Scotsman keyring of this little fellow in a kilt and when you squeezed him an inflatable dick would pop out from under it? When let him go it would pop back as the air got sucked back.
