Ehhhhhhhhh... close enough. I must've seen Alex Ferns in Chernobyl... apparently he's best known from EastEnders. I used to watch that randomly when I was a tyke... mostly all I remember about it is the character Dot.

Spooky pattern match on the beards, though.

The writers (credited and uncredited) don’t inspire confidence, nor do the director’s 2 Apes movies (War is ok, I guess), though Let Me In and Cloverfield before that were solid. Here’s rooting for the sound crew & editing.

Yeah, I read that last night... I definitely don't remember him in it - like most of the rest of that show. :) The unforgettable Dot is an exception.

But I knew I'd seen him in other things too (probably Chernobyl, for one). I was mainly wondering who the heck Commissioner Pete Savage is, in the Batman universe. I can only think Gordon is meant to take over from him. :dunno:

Oh. I dunno.

They had to take Eastenders off the air, because they ran out of episodes. I’ve muddled through, but it’s been hard. Back in September.

Turned it on...Fucking Eastenders.

Article: Ben Affleck Reportedly Had Some Demands Before He Agreed to Return as Batman in 'The Flash'

So apparently, Affleck would've reprised Batman in the coming movie, but personal events kept him away, so Pattinson is a fill-in. More interesting than that, apparently fans & critics liked Affleck's Batman? I thought I was in the minority. Or was it drowned in all the hate aimed at those initial two movies.

Anyway, he's coming back in The Flash, apparently, as Batman. And so is Michael Keaton. I'm guessing the Flash is able to cross into multiple universes etc.

I wonder if Pattinson shows up as well. Only 3 names listed on imdb so far.

Strangely enough, no. It was that weird episode where Dot and Ethel sat and chatted for the whole time.

That's the one - I remember the press going on about it because it was so leftfield for a soap.

Two upcoming projects called The Three-Body Problem, based on the book by Chinese sci-fi author Liu Cixin. The book was the first in a trilogy called Remembrance of Earth's Past, or Three-Body trilogy.

Image

The first book (2006) was translated by Chinese-American sci-fi author Ken Liu 9 years later (2015), and the translation earned Liu #1 a Hugo award & broad acclaim outside of China.

This reviewer explores that book (March 2020):
[Reveal] Spoiler: book review by Daniel Greene

The story's been big in China for years. A movie by domestic production company YooZoo had finished filming in 2015 but was never released. This news clip covers that:
[Reveal] Spoiler: CCTV story on unreleased 2015 movie

YooZoo still own the movie rights, and apparently a new movie is set to be made, directed by Tian Xiao Peng, whose only credit so far is the animated movie Monkey King: Hero is Back (2016), based on the legend of Wukong.

PS4 game trailer (2019):

But maybe more interestingly, the series rights were acquired by Netflix, and they hired Game of Thrones showrunners Benioff and Weiss to produce it.

Game of Thrones’ Benioff and Weiss to adapt sci-fi epic The Three-Body Problem at Netflix (Polygon)

So... ya. That's where we're at. Naturally, I shall be pressing that Netflix button when it's ready. But I'm mostly looking forward to the Chinese movie.

Added: The title is derived from a physics problem:

Ugh. So, if the previous trailer wasn’t a “trailer”, then I should expect this “first trailer” will have a shitton of reveals... making me want to avoid it? Hmm. Conundrum.

So I YouTube searched to see if the Dune trailer is out yet and there's like people advertising thier reation videos in advance with a countdown clock beside them. :what:

On the plus side, it turns out it releases in exactly two hours. I'll post it here along with a comment or two on what I thought about it.
