Seen the first one (wasn't too impressed), haven't seen the second one yet...
Here's the trailer for the third one, due for release in December...

A ‘Tetris’ Movie Is in the Works

A film adaptation of the classic ‘80s video game “Tetris” will be falling into theaters sometime in the near future.

Threshold Entertainment has teamed up with the Tetris Company to develop a live-action film based on the game. While no directors or cast are attached to the film yet, there is a story in place.

“It’s a very big, epic sci-fi movie,” Threshold’s CEO Larry Kasanoff tells Speakeasy exclusively. “This isn’t a movie with a bunch of lines running around the page. We’re not giving feet to the geometric shapes.”

The still image makes it look like male lead version of Gravity.

A chapter that took me like 10 minutes to read turns into a 3~ hour long movie.

Methinks there is a lot of bullshitting being done in this movie.

May as well call it Peter Jackson's Hobbit because Tolkien would be rather perturbed. :nono:

It's as if Jackson is trying to conjure up the look and feel of Return of the King for his last Hobbit installment. (There's even the song that Pippin sang for Denethor in ROTK).
And in this trailer Legolas (not in the book) and that elf from J.J. Abrams' Lost (also not in the book) get more screen time than Bilbo and Gandalf.
Doesn't raise enough interest for a cinema visit, but I'll probably watch it when it comes to TV.

Disney has previously done movies based (loosely) on its theme park rides... e.g. Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion. Here's a tease trailer for the latest such movie, due for release in May next year...

It wont be the last time either.

The one that sticks in my mind is "Exodus". The book was wriien by Leon Uris. The 1960's film of almost 3 hours was one chapter of a massive book (one of the thickest I have read).

Zulu (aka City of Violence)

Forest Whitaker and Orlando Bloom portray a Zulu and an Afrikaner respectively in this thriller set in Cape Town.
Although the story is a fictitious one, the "Project Coast" that forms part of the plot was authentic.

Trailer for Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron...

Quite a lot of it was filmed in downtown Johannesburg. I recognise that skyline...
