I don't see any zippers on their costumes. Boycotting.

My inner child wants to see this. It looks like it succeeds everywhere Rampage failed.

Which was everywhere.

It looks to have exactly the same strengths (cool monsters) and weaknesses (bad, superficial human story) as the last Godzilla. Even in the same proportions, so... boo.

The problem is it won’t be terrible enough. Yet another CG snorefest. I want stupid and ridiculous human plots that are impossible to take seriously with cool looking practical effects. Any one of the 90’s Heisei films shit all over this generic trash.

Okay sorry, had to get that out of my system

The scene in the trailer where Kong does a sort of pro-wrestling style jump off the turnbuckles in slo-mo with cheesy wrap-rock music blaring in the background was pretty sweet.

Also, Kong wrastlin' 'Zilla on an aircraft carrier? Yes please!

It should be fine if I stick to the plan: pay attention when monsters are alone on screen, stare at my phone the rest of the time.

I'm more hopeful about this mystery sci-fi project by Gareth Edwards (director of the 2014 Godzilla) and New Regency. Not much news about it, beyond this casting call in October:
New Regency Open Casting Call

DeLisi Creative Casting KEY ROLE for confidential New Regency/SciFi film – directed by: Gareth Edwards (director of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story)

To portray; YOUNG BOY OR GIRL (to play 6-7 yrs old).

South, East, South-East, North-East Asian, Indian or Pakistani heritage. Bright, smart boy or girl with a sweet & thoughtful soul (must speak excellent English, but accent is ok).

Send CURRENT CELL PHONE PHOTO (1 close-up & 1 standing) of child/client. Include – height, Eye color/Hair color, age/DOB, where you reside (city/state), union status (union or non-union) & parent/guardian contact info to: childcasting@gmail.com. In the subject line please put (Submission VIA DC). Thanks!

...hopeful on the strength of his big-screen debut, Monsters. I didn't see or don't remember Rogue One, and 2014 Godzilla was aight.

Well yes of course, that's always what they always did before computers, didn't they?

I thought the 2014 Godzilla captured the spirit pretty well. Wasn't nearly goofy enough for my taste, but it was a valiant attempt after the previous one :ill:

Idk why the trailer aspect ratio is 4:3.
