Is this a totally new movie or some reshoots?

I think 'reshoots' applies more to the Whedon cut, i.e. existing version. The paparazzi are as vague as Snyder wants them to be, but one common thread (including from Snyder) is that he'd put together almost 4 hours of movie before he left, and the reconstructive surgery came after. The 'original' version will probably be as "new" as a movie can be, when derived from overlapping productions. Another way to look at it: it's 4 hours. The Whedon cut is 2.

It's amazing how many people think Snyder's going to weave some magic and fix this movie.

I'm not familiar enough with his work either way, but... a lot can be done with that much leeway & unused material.

So this reminds me to try to trudge through Suicide Squad, as I hear Jared Leto was good in it, despite itself.

Suicide Squad "sequel"... meh. Tryhard. Margot Robbie & John Cena seem ok, everyone else in the trailer is cringe.
