:(

i get that....we're not film-goers, so quite happy to see it on tv...this seems to be the only problem with this sort of digital distribution system now - people who enjoy the cinema experience miss out...

Maybe Annihilation is for rent at the local Red Box kiosk, or will come to it soon. My last film was Three Billboards Outside Ebbing- an intense crime drama. Frances McDormand needs more "vehicles", she's awesome in this. As well as Harrelson, Rockwell, and basically, everyone shown on screen. That must point to good directing? No movies are perfect (except Goodfellas) and there are a few things I'd change. Of course I couldn't make a product like this to begin with.
I caught one flaw, when the priest is at her house, she says (paraphrasing) "taken a poll have ya father?" That's an Irish way of speaking, I thought. Probably not Missourian. Then again, I don't know anyone from MO.

^^^I forgot to point out that Chief Willoughby is a raaaaabid anti-dentite!

So, Sopranos prequel. :eager: It has potential to suck, but I'm still looking forward to it and hoping for non-suckage. :eager:

Kinda similar to Le Havre, but this time it's a Syrian refugee in Finland. He does such a good job of finding the humour in shit situations.

Knew Annihilation was one for the cinema. Would've loved to see those trippy effects on the big screen. And that Ben Salisbury and Geoff Barrow soundtrack in 7.1.

I just got around to watching mother!

I like to know as little about a movie before I watch it, so I purposely avoided reading anything on imdb until I was done. And now, reading the description, I think I would have been ok. It says "A couple's relationship is tested when uninvited guests arrive at their home, disrupting their tranquil existence." Yeah, that's not really it at all. :snooty:

I loved it. Am I wrong for loving it?

Definitely not.
She battled through in every kind of tribulation,
She revelled in adventure and imagination.
She never listened to no hater, liar,
Breaking boundaries and chasing fire.
Oh, my my! Oh my, she flies!

6 ways you can train yourself to stop using social media

4. Social media is like Netflix

Tim Bono makes a point that we tend to binge on a whole variety of things – including TV shows.

We all binge on media. But just like “Riverdale” isn’t real life, neither is Facebook or Instagram. TV shows and movies consist of actors who are playing parts to tell a story. Social media is, in effect, our own personal show. Everyone is telling a particular story — one they also happen to produce, direct, write and star in. As you are scrolling through posts and pictures, remind yourself — it’s not real life. At the very least it’s not someone’s complete life.

Still trying to think what I want to say about Annihilation. I may even have to watch it again. For now I can only really say that I felt the movie needed to be longer, and that I'm definitely reading the books.

EDIT: Oh! And that I really liked it.
