I love white chocolate. When I was growing up, our next door neighbor made white chocolate in the shape a woman's bust, mounted on a stick. I was allowed to have the "boobie candy" as I called it, it was awesome. :shifty:
I didn't know at the time, but she made weener-shaped candy too. God knows what else.

White “chocolate” is in the same category as red “licorice.”

I never got the love for licorice, twizzlers, etc. Gummy bears no thanks. Jello blech. Chocolate, ice cream, caek, cookies. Who needs more than that? :shifty:

Have you ever tried Dutch-style salted liquorice? Surprisingly yum!

Definitely. The best liquorice is Dutch liquorice.

That's not a joke, they really do make the best liquorice, particularly the salty stuff. I loves it.

I see on the Wikipedia page that salty liquorice is not exclusive to the Netherlands (although the 'Zoute Drop' variety that I've had a few times was from there).
I thought it would be terrible, and was surprised at how yummy I found it to be.
It's one of those salty-and-sweet combinations that just seems to "work"... like salted caramel.

We have salty hard and soft drop. I never eat it as it is very addictive. Every one in the office had their drop drawer. The very salty stuff was the most popular along with salmiak drop which comes from Scandinavia.

I imagine so.
Says Wiki
A study conducted in 2017 by the University of Florida suggested that the popularity of salted caramel is due to its chemical composition, as all of its main ingredients have effects on the reward systems of the human brain, resulting in a process described as "hedonic escalation".

It's possible that the salty-sweet combination of zoute drops and salmiak drops has a similar effect of "hedonic escalation".

Well if you observed my colleagues and the amount of drop eaten there would be no other conclusion.
I have it seldom in the house.
