I love how the current tactic for bullies is to curl up into a ball and cry victim at the first sign of pushback

Yes, because it's the liberals who are afraid of masks and vaccines

Somehow I'm guessing we won't be seeing that article on Slate.

Rebecca Watson is an ageist bully...

Describing the hands of a man who is well into his 80s as wrinkled is not ageist, let alone bullying.

Mike knows, his wrinkly fingers slipped. He meant to type "absolute beauty"!

I didn't realise I was bullying my grandpa by perceiving his hands as wrinkled when he was dying last year.

I agree. A thoughtful summation of her experience of Randi. Neither hatchet-job or hagiography.

I want to be disappointed that the first place some people go when the they read the name "Rebecca Watson" is her physical appearance but, sadly, I'm not.

"When a man announced on Twitter a few days prior to 2011’s TAM that he planned to “cop a feel” if he saw me, Randi refused to even bar the man from attending."

How does that work? Even if Randi wanted to ban/bar a person from a physical event, from a digital quote/profile? Where is the twitter quote? Did the guy use his real name? Odd.

Yes, people write sexist and other horrible stuff using their real names on the internet. That happens a lot. Because they rarely have to suffer any consequences. (2011 even less so than today)

A bit of googling might be in order. This is what I found out in a few minutes:

1.) The tweet is real:

2.) The bloke who made the tweet used his real name. He describes himself as "Writer/Producer/Director/Webshow host. App/Shirt designer. PR for @Discovery NOW: nothin'" and joined Twitter in May 2008. He still tweets today under the name of William Vernon Jones @echothirteen.

Announcing you're going to assault someone at a particular event definitely warrants being uninvited. Maybe he told Randi his account had been hacked or something else.

Regardless, if someone brazenly announced they were going to grope me at an event we were both scheduled to attend I'd lose massive respect for the organiser if they refused to hold the creep accountable.
