I'm not surprised to see Watson use the death of Randi to grind her axe, especially when he has no ability to defend himself from her claims.

I see no axe grinding. It's a honest obituary mentioning all the ups and downs.

I wouldn't be surprised if she was motivated to some extent by pettiness. That wouldn't invalidate any of the claims she makes in the piece though. Randi's dead but plenty of people from JREF who can counter her claims are alive. If she's talking shit hopefully they speak up.

The majority of the piece is flattering though.

At the time elevator guy invited Rebecca Watson to his room, undoubtedly hoping that their interaction would involve more than interesting talk, she had not died her hair green, blue, or any other colour.









She had nothing to fear from James Randi anyway. He lived with José Alvarez since 1986 and married him in 2013.

Watson was banned from the JREF forum twice in 2008, and she took that to heart. I think that sticks in her craw to this day.

It's not her innate physical features that I'm lampooning. It's the look that she's cultivated... the role that she's playing, as it were.

I seldom see women's appearances discussed at all on the forum -- relative to the volume of commentary on, say, Donald Trump's appearance. By creating a bit of balance, I advance the cause of equality.
