A while back I read this amusing book:

Humans: A Brief History of How We F*cked It All Up



My god, we can be a bunch of dummies sometimes (often?).

Anyways, while trawling the net, I came across this rather enjoyable and insightful take on human stupidity.

The division is among the the helpless, the intelligent, the bandits and the stupid.
The stupid are by far the most dangerous.

The author lays out an amusing and frankly quite scary set of laws about the stupid among us.
The third law was particularly striking at the present time:

"A stupid person is a person who causes losses to another person or to a group of persons while himself deriving no gain and even possibly incurring losses."

It is the kind of thinking that can be likened to someone poking themselves in the eye to cause someone else to wince. (Br*x*t anyone?)

I think it's an old military saying:

1. Smart, busy people will achieve great things.
2. Smart, lazy people won't achieve much but can be a source of great ideas.
3. Stupid, lazy people won't achieve anything at all.
4. Stupid, busy people will fuck everything up and present the greatest risk to the mission.
