I'm in the hospital right now, surgery is scheduled later today. I should be back tomorrow, if their shitty wifi allows it. I can't play any of the little games I took to stay busy. It's going to be 10 veryyyyy long days....

You're so brave, doing both procedures in rapid succession!

With the time zones between us Aban, you're either still in surgery or it's a done deal now.

Hopefully all went well!

Yep, surgery went well, and now I have to lie down for 5 days. Try to type, eat or drink in this position, just for fun....

Progress, good news!

Bendy straws are your friends. Maybe someone can sort out a bracket for you to suspend a tablet/phone at a good angle/height? There are plenty of phone clamps with 1/4" screw mountings that fit standard camera tripods or other mountings.

Great news! Don’t forget to do a few cheeky foot waggles and flexes to keep that circulation going.

All the best with the surgery and recovery.
I have some experience of French bureaucracy so super fingers crossed for that bit too.
Best advice I got in France for dealing with the Maire was if they ask for 5 papers bring 10 plus a folder of random stuff that looks like you have 100.

I do, I also have a therapist to help with that. The only problem I have here is that they all speak a weird langage. Some sort of mix where they took the worst part of English and German. It doesn't have the simplicity of English, and it sounds even worse than German
I think they call it "Dutch" or something....

Aban, sorry I missed all of this while I was on my hiatus. I'm so pleased for you that it's going well, you sound positive. I heard about it from the guys on our meet up, so I knew it was happening, just didn't know how to get in touch to say you're in my thoughts. I wish you well for all of the procedures, that everything goes without a hitch, and that you'll be happy with the results. From both of us, all the best of luck.

Yesterday was most likely the worst day of my entire life. I stayed 6h prostrate, crying in pain, while the nurses kept trying useless painkillers. 6h until they found one working. They kept saying how sorry they were, but they could do nothing more, and I kept telling them that I couldn't survive 3 more days and nights like this. Very hard very frustrating.
