It's happening

#1  Postby aban57 » Jun 28, 2018 10:38 am

My transition just became more real.
2 days ago, I met with the surgeon, and we settled on a date for the vaginoplasty : 17th October 2018. Which was a surprise, as I was expecting it much later. He's also going to try and have another surgeon perform the FFS (Face Feminization Surgery) about the same time (a few days before or after), which would be much better for me. More convenient and much cheaper. If it doesn't happen, I still have the plan B in motion, but this one will be over 10K euros.
So about 5h surgery, 8 days at the hospital, and 2 months rest. The FFS has much less impact, a few days rest are enough.
My employer knows, and they took it very well, as I expected. I'm very lucky, I'm in the best environment possible for such a big change.
I still have this depression problem to solve though.

You could make the title more click-bait-y by adding "You'll never believe what!" Anyway, I can only wish you all the best on your journey and hope that it goes well. Congratz!

Wow. This is very far outside my frame of reference so I find it hard to know how I feel about it. I fully support people doing whatever is right for them though, so if this is it for you then full steam ahead, I wish you well. I can't help worrying about it being such a big step, but I suppose no amount of doubt from outsiders rivals the amount of self-doubt you must have overcome to get yourself to this point, so from that perspective perhaps the worry is misguided. I hope it all goes as smoothly as possible, good luck.

There's no thread title so click-bait-y as a thread title with the word 'vagina' in it.

Just the other day on BBC, I saw an article on endometriosis: "My vagina was trying to kill me!"

Of course, endometriosis has little enough to do with vaginas. That didn't stop the good ol' BBC, though.

Never mind all that. Congratulations on your impending invagination.

I'm late to the party! This is really good to hear, Aban. And the news came in time for Pride Month.

You'll no longer be the prettiest girl, Jennifer. How will you feel, losing your crown?

Oh, I don't think there's a threat here. Surgeons can't perform miracles :)

Trans is beautiful, Aban! Don't make me show you the sign that says that! :lay:

I'm not losing it. I'm abdicating. Because of a sex scandal with multiple rugby players. So, really, I haven't lost. I've just gained in other ways.

Oh, not you! And that's Kate Hewlett, who is the sister of David Hewlett, she played the character who was the sister of the character in Aban's current avatar, who was played by her brother.

It's my attempt at gender humour, I'm probably not very good at it...
