Had a few scares myself, know what that means when you say about the sky etc. Takes on a magical edge that you can't describe.

Scary stuff, do all you can to prevent another!
To most Christians, the bible is like a software license. Nobody actually reads it, they just scroll to the bottom and click 'I agree'.

Hey.

Thanks all for the kind thoughts.

I had a really good day. I had loads of books, including The Gospel according to Jesus Christ by Jose Saramago (can't wait to start that one) and a P.G. Wodehouse. My guardian angel (aka my partner) got me a Kindle, it's amazing!!!

Another birthday gone, health good, running yet longer distances. My long tresses were all cut yesterday, I've had long hair for the past twenty years so I feel a bit weird today...

Both very rare in Norway, although I think I saw a butterfly once.

I missed this thread as at the time I was also in hospital with serious health issues.
Having been through it all just like you , without religion and such, and knowing that without that help you'd no longer exist does make you feel a bit like life has begun again. Being on borrowed time makes me appreciate the nice things and not get to bothered under the collar about things that are less fun.
May you live another year and many more beyond.

The butterflies are venomous and the sun will give you cancer!

There are none that are venomous. At least none that can bite you. Some caterpillars are irritating and even dangerous to touch, their hairs having chemicals on them.

You can learns all this and more on the wildlife thread.

If you don't mind me asking Mitts: what was the cause? Genetics, lifestyle, fluke?
We are alive, so the universe must be said to be alive. We are its consciousness as well as our own. We rise out of the cosmos and see its mesh of patterns, and it strikes us as beautiful. And that feeling is the most important thing in all the universe.

Glad you're still here with us. And doing well.
The problem with fantasies is you can't really insist that everyone else believes in yours, the other problem with fantasies is that most believers of fantasies eventually get around to doing exactly that.

I am very pleased for you. It sounds like you are making the most of your second chance. I'm also wondering about the reason, did you have a shitty lifestyle, shitty genetics, shitty luck or some combination, or something else entirely?
