First weed in over a week...

I've been dry for... I guess 6 months now!

Probably the longest period without in 25+ years. :(

To me Walter White, although fictional, is the same kind of person, and thus my use of “the one that rings” indicates my takeaway from his characterization. A cold hearted sociopath killer. Besides, I won’t ring. I’ll send one from hundreds of yards away. (A joke)

I wasn't holding you in comparison, merely noting what I HOPED might be an amusing similarity, namely meticulous and apparently expert knowledge of how to make drugs. The fact you got all offended and shit suggests it hit a little close to home I deduce...I do remember you once saying "I'm not a nice person" so, well, neither's Walter...:dunno:

Back in Swaziland. Just got a new bong today and ran a bowl of Swazi Gold through it. First weed in over a week, what with three full travel days door to door and getting sufficiently settled in (non trivial task when the lawyer didn't pay the bills for 9 months and everything that could be shut off was shut off and then you've got African bureauracy to deal with, you don't want to know). I think that's some sort of record. One hit and I could feel that sweet sativa satori from scalp to soles. South African shiraz and radio LM out of Maputo and all is copacetic. Where else you gonna hear Sinatra followed by Floyd?

Check them out, they stream. Google LM radio Maputo. Now they're playing a Kingston Trio reggae remix.

I missed this post, sorry.

You had a good afternoon there, I think.

Is that your new PAX on the table there? The one you sent me is still hanging in there BTW. It is a bit difficult to get the burner started but once it starts it still works pretty well. I may invest in a new one soon.

It is, and it was a nice day off!

I’m pleased with the Pax3. It is my second one, though. A sensor failed in the first, and they sent me a replacement right away.

I did a small test yesterday evening. My herb grinder collects trichomes below a screened bottom. I haven't been using it for some time, because I've been breaking up flower buds by hand. In my stash box, I noticed a small jam jar in which I'd been saving kief, at least a few months old.

It was in air tight and dark storage, probably two coffee spoons full. So, I mixed it with about the same volume of bud. Half and half, as it were. I was curious if perhaps kief has a shelf life, and I waited too long to use it.

If it does, it's longer than the amount of time I kept it. I had one bowl of that mixture, and it hit like a fuckin' hammer. A big damn hammer. I am a pretty regular cannabis user, and that surprised me.

One more bowl full remains. Nothing planned for this evening. I'll see if the effect is consistent.

All in the interests of science, of course.

I read in High Times back in the day (iirc) that weed has a shelf life of around a year. That will vary greatly depending on the climate it's stored in. I have some from 2015 in my freezer that's still green and works. Some from the same batch that spent a year in a dresser drawer is brown, but still works. Some from 2018 in there that doesn't seem to have lost much, if any potency. It does cause the buds to become brittle, but using it for edibles as I do, that's no problem.

I keep mine in a Mason jar, but it never lasts long enough to lose any potency. I'm smoking probably a half to an ounce a month at the moment. I function pretty well when completely baked, which is a good thing, as I'm often completely baked. Why not? What's sobriety ever done for me?

Me too, I usually start with the edibles before lunch. I go through 1-2 ounces a month, but I do share with neighbors sometimes. An ounce a month would be enough, but why not enjoy life. I function fine when stoned as well, though if going into public I try to wait until I get home before getting too cross-eyed.

It's rare that I wake-n-bake, there's usually some sort of errand needs running that requires driving. I don't do impaired driving, just too many old farts out there mindlessly changing lanes, running red lights, stopping at green lights, going 20 in a 60 zone and 60 in a 20, and otherwise dementing. It's what I get for living in God's Waiting Room.

Seinfeld had a bit about Florida driving. He said something like the state flag should be a steering wheel and knuckles (implying that the driver is so sunken in the seat that their head is not visible.)
I have my own one-liner, if you want to find the people who are driving stoned, look in the slow lane.

Wake and bake. I call that a 2C morning. Caffeine and cannabis. I reserve that for my day off.

Some time ago plus 11 months, my Pax3 herb vaporizer failed. It wouldn't come up to temperature, and displayed an error flash code. To their credit, Pax promptly replaced it. 11 months or so after that, the replacement Pax3 failed in the same manner. I didn't bother getting a replacement under warranty, because I was not confident in their product quality.

I keep a small flask bong as a backup to my dry herb vaporizer. That bong has been my primary means of consuming cannabis for too long!

I tried to solve that problem this March, by ordering a Mighty vaporizer from Storz and Bickel, directly from their web store. They didn't have the inventory to fill my order, and I cancelled it after a month. I couldn't find any other vendor which had one in stock, either! Last week, I tried again, and found one! It arrived yesterday!
