Halifax Jazz Drummer Jerry Granelli Dies at 80 | Exclaim!
As a member of Guaraldi's trio, Granelli is perhaps best known for his performance on the soundtrack of 1965's A Charlie Brown Christmas, a holiday listening staple that has been inducted into both the Grammy Hall of Fame and the National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress.

I wasn't aware of him, but RIP. That prompted me to look up that soundtrack, I didn't even know it was a thing. I always enjoyed the music in that show. Now I'm listening to it while I do chores. :)

Firs tentative reports from trusted sources that Steven Weinberg has died. It seems not to have filtered through and his Wiki hasn't been updated, but physicist john Baez (famed for the Crackpot Index) has tweeted:

"Steven Weinberg died!

For all the talk of unification, there are few examples. Newton unified terrestrial and celestial gravity - apples and planets. Maxwell unified electricity and magnetism. Weinberg, Glashow and Salam unified electromagnetism and the weak force."

Weinberg wrote one of the major standard textbooks for General Relativity, named the quark, and was the leader in supersymmetric grand unification.
