For perspective. Every dot is an American who has died of COVID-19.

Another reminder that 43% of Americans live in an alternate reality.

Every one of them should be shamed from public life immediately.

I notice that many on the left political side say the numbers are higher than the published figures. Some or the right say the figures are exaggerated. What has either side to gain from this?

The right is in power, and is responsible for the outcome, so gains from understating data that make it look bad.

The people who say the numbers are higher aren't "the left", they're just people who understand that the number of cases is higher than the number of cases confirmed by testing, because testing isn't universal and that's how epidemics work - most of next week's cases will be people who caught it from those who had it but didn't know, not those who tested positive. What they hope to gain from pointing this out is to allow everyone - government, media, the public - to determine their actions based on reality rather than ideology, or lies.

Same goes for deaths. If COVID exacerbates a heart condition leading to heart failure, is the cause of death COVID, or heart failure? What about someone who has a heart attack but never had a COVID test? The usual way of quantifying deaths due to an epidemic is to compare total deaths over the period of the pandemic with the death statistics in the corresponding period in previous years. Work that's been done on this during COVID-19 points to a higher number of excess deaths than the numbers obtained by hospital counts.

Pence shared this picture on Twitter, then deleted it. Maybe he temporarily forgot about the pandemic that's taken more American lives in 3 months than WWI. There are still some people with college degrees acting like 119,000 deaths is statistically insignificant. Like 25-80 of these patriots, I'd guess. At this rate Pelosi will inherit the presidency by fall. Note also that the people of color have been put in the front row, for some reason. It's just a coincidence.

Six members of Trump's campaign working in Tulsa test positive. Gee, I'm shocked. How could this have happened?

Here's Trump today trying to be as offensive as possible when bringing up Covid-19. I'd say the sheen of sweat is hope that he has the "China virus", but it's Arizona. There's always the bright sun. He seems like a guy who exceeded his safe lifetime radiation dose a long time ago. :teef:

We were on the very brink of failure as a species, much less a nation, because of Obama. “EVERYONE” knows that.

At some point. When the viruse disappears in 2034 thanks to a vaccine, Trump will say "See, I told you so !"
Or, more plausibly, the anti-vax movement will make sure it stays alive.
