James Randi is gone, aged 92.

James Randi, a magician whose many TV appearances led him to a second career as a respected paranormal investigator, has died at 92. The James Randi Foundation confirmed his death in a tweet on Tuesday, saying he died of "age-related causes."

I fucking LOVED his $1m challenge. It threw down the gauntlet to every huckster, prayer-seller, woo-wizard and snake-oil salesman. Come and have a go if you think you’re right. Some tried and had their arses handed to them on a plate. Most stayed away, knowing fine well they were utter frauds.

For that alone, he deserves to be lauded.
