The idea that Jan Sloot could do what he claimed he could do is absurd. The man was either a fraud or a crank - or a combination of the two.

Do not people know there are many many shortcuts like this? Nine times table is my favourite. I thought this was widely taught so that people get a feel of how to play around with numbers.
