I take as a fundamental difference the fact that human animals have been to the moon.

In fact, I spend at least half an hour a day berating non-human organisms for their failure to go to the moon. You can find me standing on my lawn shaking my fist at the grass for its inability to have achieved the most basic steps towards space flight.
