Nothing, he left years ago.

Which begs the question why you're asking silly questions to yourself, after a spot of thread necromancy, I suppose.

Don't answer though - I don't actually care.

Good. I didn't for a second think it was as shit as UR made out. Just making the point to him, should he wish to acknowledge reality, that he's posting on an international forum.

Haven't had to see an oncologist (Thank You, Baby Jebus), but my cardiologist and rheumatologist spend plenty of time with me and answer all my questions. It does help to be an informed patient, though, so you can ask relevant questions.

$35 per appointment, because they're considered specialists. Ordinary doc is $10. Blood pressure and cholesterol meds are free, thyroid stuff costs me $4 a month. Insurance for the two of us is $213 a month. So not too bad, but it won't last. Good news is next year I get Medicare 'cuz I'll be older than dirt.

Medicare will still cover me, though I have to pay for the services first and then claim the cost back. Toying with the idea of picking up a medical policy in Swaziland to supplement the Medicare, it's pretty cheap. All depends on income. Plus we'll be back here at least 3 or 4 months a year.

Details, there's a devil in them.

Pretty good for most ordinary stuff, if it's anything major you go to South Africa. Most of the medical policies include air ambulance to Nelspruit or Johannesburg. I'm in generally good health, just maintenance shit like blood pressure meds, so I'll be fine. I'm looking forward to good, cheap dentistry in South Africa, though. Fuckers here want almost $5000 for a permanent bridge and I can get the same done in S.A. for a tenth of that. My mother-in-law had all her front teeth, upper and lower, capped for R16,000, which is about $1300. Over here it would cost you a minimum of $10Gs for the same work.

I have other views about dentistry. I like my man to be local very local like 5 minutes around the corner but that is just me. Not for me. You have no problems relying so much on SA?

10 years ago I considered myself to be fit. I used to walk 50 kms a day without problem. Now I can make it to the shops and back.
I paid for my life style even though I never took drugs. Booze, women and long hours working (my choice) has taken its toll.

We'll be in SA probably once a month, Nelspruit is only 2 hours from Mbabane. Lots of stuff available there that's hard or impossible to find in Swaziland. A lot of people go weekly for a day of shopping, movies, etc. Probably have to visit Joburg pretty regularly too, because of family, though it's a longer trip and you need to stay overnight.

I've got to get more active, I've been sitting on my ass too long and it's starting to take a toll. Booze, women, drugs and too much work. I eat well, and walk a bit every day, but it's not nearly enough. I need to get back on my bike.

If it was that easy. I took bloody drugs for my cluster headaches. Weight went up 10 kgs and wont come off. Stopped taking the buggers. My specialist then told me it can be one of the side effects! Terrible stuff turned into a zombie. I did not have headaches though. I survive the headaches now. Since then I just cant move much. I walk maybe 5 kms but that is it.

Yep. Who wants to see Trump 2040? Not me, though I guess I could, if I'm unlucky enough to live to 86. There's always the 9mm Highway.

I'm close enough to Canada to escape if need be. :waah:
I just came back from the dentist. Cleaning, I'll need 3 small fillings, and eventually 3 crowns. Eventually all crowns if I live long enough. The cleaning and fillings will be free, I pay for insurance. My bridge cost around $3000 retail, I had to pay half iirc. There's little excuse for such a high price, though I don't blame my dentist for that.
